Tough Enough to Wear Pink

tetwpSmG:

This year, the GMVA is proud to partner with Wrangler and Tough Enough to Wear Pink in the fight against breast cancer.  Our 2009 Glennville Rodeo RoundUp raised $2570 in various events during the three day weekend and donated the money to  "Links for Life"  a cancer support and resource center located in Bakersfield.

Links for Life is a non-profit, locally based cancer support group. Links for Life started as The Carol Barraza Women's Health Resource Center  in 1992 by Carol Barraza and Sharyn Woods to promote breast cancer awareness and provide services for women coping with cancer.

Today, Links for Life fields over 4,000 calls regarding questions related to breast cancer, provides 240 wigs and 20 bras/prosthesis, arranges for 440 mammograms, 242 ultrasounds and 45 needle biopsies for women under 40 that are uninsured or under-insured.  For more information regarding Links for Life, please visit their website at www.linksforlife.org
